Welcoming a tiny tot in ones life is a kind of celebration time for parents. They want to do everything at one go. They want to create best nursery, buy best of clothes, baby bedding, and toys to make this a moment to remember through the lifetime. But while doing this, how much importance is given to the child's sound sleep and safety aspect? Decorating a baby room with most expensive crib, baby bedding and toys would be a waste if baby does not feel comfortable and is not safe in the room.
Utmost importance goes to the child's safety while preparing a baby's room. A baby bedding needs to be placed at the right place. It should have a good quality mattress. A baby bedding or crib cover and crib sheets used should be tucked well to the mattress. They should be water resistant and made of cotton material, which is proved to be safe and good for baby's health. The baby bedding should not create skin allergies and should be a breathable fabric. Make sure that you purchase more number of such sheets since baby would need them quite often. There could be leakage problems even if a baby is wearing a diaper. A wet mattress cover or crib sheet can cause discomfort to the skin and is not at all safe for the baby's health.
Crib skirt though does not have any important role to play is used to cover the things below the baby bedding. It is tied to the baby bedding in hanging down position toward the floor.
Pillows and bumper pads used to be kept on both the sides of a baby earlier. But it is advised that these pillows or bumpers can cause sudden infant death syndrome by suffocating a child or children can use them at a later stage of their development to step out of the baby bedding in turn hurting them.
Blankets too are not in practice these days with baby bedding due to the similar fear of babies covering their face with it, which may hurdle the breathing process causing sudden infant death syndrome. So in stead, parents should make sure that their babies wear warm clothing to prevent cold then covering them with blankets.
So while planning a baby's room, more attention needs to be given to the safety and comfort factors over the look and design of the room. Choose materials that are made of good quality cotton since babies feel warm and comfortable in cotton clothing and baby bedding. Plus cotton materials don't cause skin irritation.
Mothers go through nine months of tough time to hold a little bundle of joy in hand and they forget all the pains they go through. Taking care of the newly born infant by keeping it in a safe environment is as necessary as your care for it when in the womb by taking all the medications and following a proper diet so that the baby gets everything that is required for its development within.
